Multiple Postdoctoral Positions Available

We are seeking multiple, highly motivated postdoctoral fellow with interesting in single cell sequencing and precision medicine to join our lab. Dr. Wenfei Jin’s lab in the Southern University of Science and Technology is interested in 1) single cell sequencing and its applications in cancer biology; 2) identifying genetic/epigenetic changes that drive oncogenesis; 3) developing cancer prediction and treatment model for precision medicine. The long-term goal of the lab is to develop efficient personalized treatment for cancers based on patients’ genetic background. In near future, the lab will focus on investigating genetic/epigenetic heterogeneity and micro-evolution of cancer cells using single cell sequencing related technologies. The lab is well funded by multiple programs including “National 1000 Young Talent Program of China”. Excellent graduate and undergraduate seeking degrees (Ph.D. or M.S.) or internship are also welcome.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates should have a track-record of high quality publications (at least one first-author publication). Interested candidates who have experience in genomics, bioinformatics, biostatistics, cancer biology, next generation sequencing (NGS) and population genetics (evolution) are preferred. Any nationality is welcome to apply.

Salaries and Benefits

Internationally competitive salaries and benefits will be provided. Extremely strong candidate could be appointed as research assistant professor.

1. Postdoc’s annual salary usually is >270,000 RMB (>41,000 USD); Annual income could be >$80,000 USD if the candidate can be further supported by Shenzhen Peacock Plan.
2. Benefits and preferential rent accommodations will be provided based on the University’s policy.
3. Financial support to participate in 2-3 conferences (including 1 international conference) per year.

Dr. Wenfei Jin received his Ph.D. in Computational Biology from Chinese Academy of Sciences and Max Planck Society Partner Institute for Computational Biology (PICB) with Prof. Li Jin (CAS member) and Prof. Shuhua Xu in 2012. Dr. Jin completed his postdoctoral Fellowship in systems biology at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) with Dr. Keji Zhao in 2017. He was selected to the “National 1000 young talents program of China” and joined in Department of Biology in SUSTech in 2017. Dr. Jin work has focused on population genetics and precision medicine since his Ph.D. program. He has published >20 research articles and book chapters, including first/co-first author articles in Nature, AJHG, Genome Res, Genome Biol and HMG. He and his colleagues developed single cell DNase-seq which provides key regulatory information for precision medicine (Jin, et.al, 2015 Nature). He is especially interested in promoting the applications of single cell sequencing in clinical diagnosis and medical consultation.
